Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting and Analysis

A little bit about our team:

The Corporate Finance Department at WMG is responsible for overseeing all of the financial operations of the company in partnership with the finance groups within the labels and individual companies within WMG. The department provides financial reporting, accounting, planning, budgeting, and financial compliance and auditing for the company. The department is filled with fun, outgoing and overall successful individuals who work hard all while enjoying the perks of working in the Music Industry. This role will report to the Senior Director, Financial Reporting and Analysis.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Develop an understanding of the general ledger account structure, affiliate hierarchy, and company operations

  • Review and analyze monthly and quarterly actual results to understand unusual variances

  • Prepare and maintain recurring source files, primarily in Excel with HFM Smart View functionality, which are leveraged for analysis of results and are the basis of senior management reporting

  • Prepare monthly review packages for senior management for both actual and forecast results

  • Assist in preparation of monthly Board of Director presentation decks for both actual and forecast results

  • Liaise with Consolidations and External Reporting regarding financial results to ensure presented uniformly across the Company

  • Monthly areas of investigation and analysis over Recorded Music segment include, affiliate specific P&L performance compared to annual budget, consolidated P&L performance compared to annual budget and prior year by revenue and cost type, including margin analysis, affiliate specific direct cost evaluation, top seller review, and streaming analysis.

  • Monthly areas of investigation and analysis over Music Publishing segment include, overview of segment performance compared to annual budget and prior year, consolidated P&L performance compared to annual budget and prior year by revenue and cost type, including margin analysis, and consolidated direct cost review.

  • Monthly areas of investigation and analysis over Corporate segment include, overview of segment performance compared to annual budget and prior year, review of performance compared to annual budget and prior year by department, and consolidated overhead commentary.

Overall

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with UK FP&A counterparts, Recorded Music finance teams globally, Shared Services Accounting, Consolidations, External Reporting, Cash Analysis, Treasury, Corporate Services, Investor Relations, and other key financial team members

  • Prepare ad hoc reports, special projects, and analyses for senior management, as requested

Rockstar candidates will be able to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 2 years of professional experience

  • Big Four public accounting or large multi-national experience preferred

  • CPA candidate preferred

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of financial systems and software

  • Proficient with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management is a plus

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and dedication to deepening understanding of work being done

Salary Range

$80,000 to $96,000 Annually

Salary Ranges are included for all NY, California job postings and 100% remote roles where talent can be located. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
