Job Title: UK Royalties and Client Administrator
A little bit about our team:
As part of one of the biggest Deal signing Territories of Warner Chappell Music, the UK Admin team represents a significant share of WCM’s global business and is responsible for all elements of Publishing administration using the very latest technology of our bespoke internal administration system – TANGO, Warner Chappell’s leading cloud-based Deals & Royalties system. Our UK Royalty Department, together with our UK Copyright team, is part of our UK Administration division at Warner Chappell UK. The UK Royalty Department is responsible for timely and accurate accountings to our valued writers and clients, performing an important role in completing the final step of the end-to-end music value chain at Warner Chappell.
Your role:
We’re looking for a dynamic, self-starter to join our newly evolved UK Royalty Department. Reporting directly to the UK Royalty Manager, you will be integrated into a multi-department administration environment and be challenged to perform at a level that allows you to demonstrate your maximum skillset. You will provide day to day support for all UK Royalty functions, bringing a client-focused, can-do attitude to our UK Administration Department. You will be encouraged to think big and innovate as we enter an exciting new phase for WCM, where we put our writers first and strive to deliver the very best customer service.
Here you’ll get to:
Support all outbound Royalty Distributions to our UK signed clients, providing assistance with the Royalty Close process.
Provide high-level customer service to our UK clients, acting as the point of contact for our writers to resolve client queries whilst providing responses in a courteous and timely manner.
Register clients to our online WCM Client Portal, provide Portal demonstrations, maintain up to date contact details as required and support any client queries in using our portal and mobile app.
Enter and upload data into our in-house Copyright and Royalty system, including client payee account details (addresses/bank details/tax status) and financial transactions.
Provide ad hoc reports and analysis as requested to support the work of the UK Royalty Manager, using BI/Tableau and additional reporting suites available.
Analyse royalty statements and create earnings analysis reports for internal & external client needs.
Work with our UK Copyright and Tracking teams to undertake catalogue audits and carry out internal income suspense reviews.
Support the UK Royalty Manager with external client audits.
Support the UK Administration Department on project-based work and other ad hoc duties as directed by management to meet KPI targets.
Attend and participate in team and department meetings.
Work interdepartmentally, collaborating with colleagues in different departments to streamline and improve overall administration processes, in particular Finance, Copyright, Income Tracking and Royalty Processing.
Initiate new processes and contribute ideas toward system enhancements.
About you:
A music lover who values creation and is passionate about servicing our songwriters and rightsholders.
An enthusiastic self-starter who is eager to learn and picks up new systems and processes easily.
Detail-orientated with an analytical mind. You enjoy spending time analysing reports and data files and are comfortable with numbers.
Competency and accuracy with data-entry and management, with an understanding of how that data impacts other processes.
Fluency in manipulating, comparing, reconciling and analysing high volumes of data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, macros and formulae, is required, as is a willingness and interest to expand those skills.
Knowledge of royalty reporting formats utilized by collection societies and third-party licensees (CRD/CSV/DIF/TEXT).
You have excellent organisational and time management skills and are comfortable managing competing priorities.
You demonstrate personal drive and ambition.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, a natural ‘people person’ comfortable with conversing with clients in a polite and professional manner.
Confident in resolving external customer queries.
High attention to detail.
Excellent numeracy skills.
We’d love it if you also had:
Experience working in a customer-services role.
A demonstrable interest in the administration and operations of a music publisher.
Experience using financial systems.
Prior experience working for a music company, particularly in an administrative capacity (e.g. Copyright/Royalties/Income Tracking).
An understanding of music publishing and the international collection society framework that supports the collection and distribution of royalties to songwriters.
Hands-on experience of updating/maintaining copyright and royalty management systems.
Experience working on Royalty Audits with both internal and external auditors.
Experience using BI/Tableau/Monarch.
