Job Title: Digital Finance Manager
A little bit about our team:
Our team deals with the digital side of music, which involves working with Warner Music’s labels and affiliates all over the world. Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Financial Reporting and within a team of 10, you’ll play a crucial role in accounting for the digital revenue flow, supporting the team and solving problems relating to our affiliates.
Your role:
In the Finance Manager role, within our digital finance team you will have exposure to all areas of Finance. You’ll be leading month end by preparing and reviewing key schedules which include accruing and analysing the Worldwide revenue recognised in the home office, reviewing deals with digital providers and calculating revenue to be repatriated to affiliates across the entire group. This role will involve dealing with a multitude of key stakeholders from around the world in different Warner Music offices and across many departments. No month is ever the same!
Here you’ll get to:
Manage the preparation of digital revenue accruals and their associated costs; reviewing estimations for current month revenue and the monthly pipeline revenue schedule
Manage digital provider deal financials including; deal economics, minimum guarantees, earnings and recoupment
Work closely with the Digital processing team to ensure risks to the business are mitigated and work with FP&A to review month end accounting against forecasts
Manage the monthly repatriation process to affiliates for digital sales collected centrally and arrange payment through to repertoire owner
Control, review and approve month end journals for digital related financials
Analytically review all digital related financials and presentation to senior management
Oversee the Digital AR process, includes managing and reviewing:
cash flow budgets, forecasts and actuals including variance analysis and management commentary
digital order-to-cash process including; invoicing, cash collection, cash allocation and general credit management, incorporating appropriate remedies with overdue customers
aged debtor analysis in order to assess financial risk and determine relevant provisions
Manage related Home Office internal and external audits
Prepare digital balance sheet reconciliations and analytical review for management pack
Perform digital related SOX controls agreed upon by management including evaluation of any risks that may arise. Maintain a control-led environment consistent with internal SOX guidelines
Suggest and implement improvements for the development of effective controls
Develop positive relationships with affiliates across the world, to provide support and assist with their queries as and when required
Liaise with business partners on global deals and ensuring consistent business practice across the group
Support and manage a team of 2
Ad-hoc assignments and projects as required
About you:
Qualified accountant with 2yrs PQE
Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel skills
You have excellent oral/written communication skills
You have the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
You are able to perform in a fast-changing environment
You take own initiative and responsibility over own workload, while working within the goals of the team
We’d love it if you also had:
Knowledge of nominal ledgers and database management systems (eg. Oracle GFS, Business Objects, HFM).
A passion for music and keen curiosity about the digital music world.
